First question we asked ourselves: do we really have to pay to get to the gorge? If you want to save some time, I'd suggest you do it because the way will take some time and is not very exciting (save the time for the walks up there). Otherwise don't be too worried about the signs: it looked like a fairly easy walk and many did it (about one third, accounting for multiple bus rides). Gorge itself is nice, but we were slightly underwhelmed which may be due to excessive expectations from other reviews and travel guides. Loads of toutists using it as a public pool made it feel less culture and sight than entertainment. The circuit route took us a bit longer than expected but was really cool.

A nice spot to spend a few hours, the Gorge is so refreshing and takes the heat out of you on a hot day. The gift shop has some interesting pieces and they make a pretty decent lunch and coffee.

Mossman gorge is a must for all tourist in the Cairns to Daintree area. The centre at the entrance to the park is run by the local indigenous community, and includes local art work for sale. The centre also includes a cafe with a selection of sweets and savouries. You can walk to the gorge, but it is recommended that you take the shuttle bus to help support the park and local community. The short shuttle bus ride takes you to an awesome water hole, where you can spend the day swimming. The shuttle us will return you to the centre when you are done. Make sure you get back before the cafe closes.

The gorge and rainforest are absolutely stunning. The 2km circuit walk through the rainforest, with all the side tracks, is well worth the effort. The cafe, shop and gallery are probably equal with the best out there. The best part is the information on the local indigenous culture both out at the gorge and in the visitors centre. Also the service and welcome given by the indigenous staff is amazing. Take the bus to the gorge. It cost less than $10 & it is the respectful thing to do.

Super centre for walking the gorge, has bus service which takes you up to the walk way. Centre has a great cafe which serves damper, jam and cream. Best value good in any first native centre I have seen. Good value for money all around. Worth the visit.
